Liz Tiesi

Liz Tiesi, owner and lead designer at threshold interiors, has a BA in History from UCLA and completed her interior design training at the Inchbald School of Design in London.  While living in London for over ten years, Liz was able to travel frequently and had the opportunity to view architecture and design elements from all over the world.  She has incorporated her international experience into her work and initially started her design business developing and designing property in the UK.   Upon her return to New York in 2010, Liz opened her own design firm to provide a fresh approach to the creation of residential spaces. Her design philosophy envisions interiors that are in keeping with the local vernacular, but are still sophisticated and reflect her clients’ desires.   Liz values her client’s perspective and always endeavors to have their homes be cohesive, stylish and comfortable for their lifestyle.

Liz can execute many types of projects including new construction, full renovations, revamping of new developments, and decor projects.  Due to her depth of experience, she is comfortable renovating a mews house in Notting Hill, building a beach cottage in Nantucket, or developing a former rag shop in Manhattan into a family home. Her goal is to create unique visual experiences in her projects by layering textures and colors across many mediums.  Incorporating salvaged materials, sourcing items globally and researching for the most up to date product offerings all contribute to this aesthetic.

Liz lives with her family in the West Village and loves walking her chihuahuas Taco and Minka on the Hudson River.

Mikaela Stefan

Mikaela Stefan, Interior Design Intern, made the move to New York three years ago and is currently pursuing her Bachelors of Fine Art in Interior Design at Parsons. Growing up in Vancouver exposed her to a city in the midst of major development and new architecture projects.  This rapid growth and multiculturalism fueled her interest in interior design.  The integral use of nature in interior design from where she grew up has influenced her laid-back style and casual approach to spaces.   Mikaela has obtained consecutive internships since her freshman year of college exposing herself to variety of styles and projects ranging from high end commercial to residential.

During her free time, Mikaela enjoys spending time with friends, trying new restaurants and relaxing at home. Mikaela is looking forward to continuing her internship at Threshold Interiors for the duration of her senior year.
